The Power of Communication

Hi Guys!!!

Yea I know it has been a while....I have been busy reading for an exam. I will soon be back.......

So lets get started with today's topic.

Let us start by understanding what the word "Communication"means. Wikipedia defines communication as is the activity of conveying information  through the exchange of thoughts, messages, or information, as by speech, visuals, signals, writing, or behavior.

It is very important for couples to communicate with each other; by communication i do not mean just calling each other. You need to express your fears, your concerns, everything to each other. Your spouse should be your best friend and confidant.

You should be able to discuss everything with your spouse. If you are not comfortable with a friend your spouse has, then you should communicate with your spouse expressing why you are not comfortable with the relationship they have got with that person. Please note I wrote communicate not nag or quarrel about it. From the definition of communication, you should notice it states behaviour as one of the means of communication.

The much talked about "Woman power"is actually the woman using behavior as a means of communication. Now most ladies get it wrong when they try to use behavior as a means of communicating with their Man. Ladies if you are not happy about something please do not nag to your man about it and try not to put up an attitude instead communicate with your spouse.

Another important thing to note from the definition is ''the exchange''; so this means you should not be the only one doing all the talking. You should also listen to what your spouse has got to say and the both of you should learn from each other and understand each others point of view.

Finally, if you have got children, try to make out a day when the children can go have a sleep over at their grannies so you and your spouse can have a good talk and settle whatever issues you have which has bridged the communication between you and your spouse.

I would love to read your thoughts.

xoxo
